Theory Of Constraints

The Theory of Constraints, invented by Dr Eli Goldratt and described in his famous novels, focuses on achieving performance breakthroughs in large complex environments dominated by high uncertainty.

Dr. Goldratt's Theory of Constraints is being used by thousands of Corporations, and is taught in over 200 Colleges, Universities and Business Schools. His books have sold over 3 million copies and have been translated into 23 languages.

Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt:

“Patrick Hoefsmit participated in the conception and birth of the TOC Marketing solution. Together we figured out that what was constraining his printing business was nothing internal to the organization; the constraint was in the market. We developed the Golden Idea that would bring more orders and much, much more profit and implemented it. In a few months, the breakthrough was there: instead of 1 million guilders loss, the balance sheet now showed a million guilders profit! You can find all the details of this story in my book "It's not luck". The personage of Pete is based on this episode in our lives.

In 2000 I started Goldratt Consulting Ltd. And Patrick joint me as one of the first. Soon he took the responsibility as regional director of Europe, Israel and Brazil and expanded our customer base and consulting capacity. He also brought Frans-Jan Buters to Goldratt Consulting. Frans-Jan has been an entrepreneur in the IT business and proved to be one of my brightest pupils. In the years he worked for me he was not only responsible as auditor for many clients all over Europe but also paved the way in Japan for Goldratt Consulting. Frans-Jan also joined my son Rami in the development of the TOC Marketing & Sales solution.

Both Patrick and Frans-Jan have lived TOC in the real world. What they sell is no textbook ideas like so many others. They experienced

the pain and struggle that come with visionary leadership firsthand. These bright, knowledgeable and experienced persons have decided to focus their efforts. With their Blue Jonah team they successfully apply TOC in the service industry. I am proud of their achievements and look forward to continue to support them as they develop further.”
